Capital Metro drivers will strike on Nov. 5

From KEYE, October 31, 2008...

Capital Metro's driver's union announced Friday that its drivers would strike on Wednesday, Nov. 5, after rejecting StarTran's final contract offer earlier this week.

ATU local's president Jay Wyatt said the workers would like to start the strike sooner, but do not want to disrupt workers going to the polls.

Wyatt said the union, which voted 390 to 57 against the contract, was unsatisfied with several elements such as employee health benefits and wages.
