From Impact News, February 27, 2009...
Construction on Toll 45 SE has begun and is expected to be complete by late April. The 7.4-mile, four-lane roadway will connect IH 35 to Toll 130 just south of FM 1327 near the City of Mustang Ridge.
This corridor will create easier access from south Austin to Georgetown allowing motorists to avoid IH 35. Six exits, three for eastbound traffic and three for westbound traffic, will allow access to Crane Road, Wright Road, FM 1625, Turnersville Road and US 183. The project is funded by the Texas Department of Transportation’s Mobility Funding and will cost an estimated $139 million.

Serial Bank Robber Hunted By FBI
From KXXV.com, July 13, 2008...
For more than four years, he's eluded authorities, who believe he's robbed at least thirteen banks in Texas, and made off with more than a million dollars. The FBI calls himi the "Interstate Bandit", because most of those hold-ups have been at the small and mid-size banks along Interstates 35, 45 and 20. The FBI says he's acting alone, he's getting more brazen, and he's never been close to getting caught.

From Austin Business Journal, June 17, 2008...
A pair of I-35 exits in Austin are the two worst bottlenecks in the state, according to a recent study.
Kirkland, Wash.-based Inrix, which provides traffic information to MapQuest, Microsoft Corp. and other customers, ranked the nation's 100 most congested cities and 100 worst traffic bottlenecks.
The study ranked exit 235 to Martin Luther King Boulevard and 19th St. the worst in Texas and 62nd worst in the country. The 0.35-mile stretch is congested 34 hours per week, slowing commuters to an average speed of 9.8 miles per hour when congested.
Exit 233, to Riverside Drive, was the state's second-worst and 75th worst in the nation, with vehicles traveling an average of 17.1 miles per hour during 57 congested hours per week.
