The Texas Department of Transportation issued a warning Monday saying that TxDOT, along with 49 other state transportation departments, have been notified that the federal Highway Trust Fund is low on funding.
TxDOT says until the situation is resolved, the Federal Highway Administration will be slowing its rate of reimbursements to states.
