Shopping centers spring up though some remain empty

With a state of uncertainty about the economy, people and businesses are more cautious about investing, which has led to more vacancies in strip malls throughout the area. This is apparent in the increasing number of “For Lease” signs that are popping up in windows of office and retail centers.

Even with older strip centers partially empty, more are springing up in Cedar Park, with businesses moving in right away. So why are some newer centers getting tenants while older ones stand empty?
