Another Downtown Project Stalls
From KXAN, January 1, 2009...
Another huge downtown development has stalled in Downtown Austin. The proposed Museum Tower office building planned for the corner of Fourth and Guadalupe streets is a bust. It was going to be the new home of the Austin Museum of Art , which currently sits at Eighth Street and Congress Avenue.
The parking lot at Fourth and Guadalupe streets was supposed to be replaced soon by a 30-story Museum Tower. The delay is being blamed on the staggering economy. John Sager is just one of many disappointed Austin-area artists.
