Site chosen for deep-water intake

After a lengthy study, the Brushy Creek Utility Authority (BCRUA) has chosen a new deep-water intake site for its $350 million project, designed to increase the amount of water Cedar Park, Leander and Round Rock can draw from Lake Travis.

Engineer Drew Hardin, P.E., of Carter Burgess, announced the results on May 16. Hardin made presentations on his findings at the Cedar Park and Round Rock city council meetings on May 22. A public hearing was scheduled at the BCRUA Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday, May 27.
