New comptroller site monitors Texas stimulus dollars

The Texas Comptroller’s office launched a Web site on Feb. 27 aimed at tracking stimulus dollars headed for Texas.

The site will also help business leaders, officials, politicians, economic developers and everyday citizens make sense of the complex legislation.

“Our office is closely reviewing the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to determine what it means for Texas,” said Comptroller Susan Combs. “We will share information we have compiled so far and continually update the Web page as federal agencies provide more guidance on the funding included in this complex and far-reaching plan.”

Tracking the Texas Stimulus will begin with a spreadsheet listing the provisions of the $787 billion stimulus bill and an estimate of the amount of money earmarked for Texas.
