Manor, Texas is not a big city. In fact, there are just about 5,500 people living there.
The city doesn't typically make headlines and few would consider it a technological town.
City Secretary Dustin Haisler said people should give the city another look.
"We decided to take a risk and make Manor a little more interactive," he said.
The city is now using Quick Response codes coined "SmartCodes." They look similar to UPC codes but are large and printed on boards throughout the city. Using a cell phone, each is a link to information on the Internet.
