Austin City Council Member Laura Morrison, after refusing to release a draft of an ordinance that would alter how the city negotiates with businesses that are offered tax incentives to move here, said late Wednesday that she would release the document. She says the ordinance would generally make the city's process more open and add chances for public input.
Morrison initially said she would not release a copy despite apparently having shown it to people outside the city government. She had said she and other council members are still seeking input from other stakeholders and that process must finish before anything is released publicly. She had said the draft is a 'working paper,' a kind of document the city contends it can legally keep private.
