We're on the leading edge of a great Texas peach crop. That's the message from Parker County, the Hill Country, Central Texas and East Texas.
"We've had at least one or two growers say it's as good as last year," says Parker County's Texas AgriLife Extension agent Jon Green. "That's a good sign. Last year was a good year." His remarks were echoed in other growing areas.
Barring hail or a serious lack of rain, peaches should be plentiful throughout the season, which runs through early August.
