The statesman.com Out & About blog presented an op-ed piece entitled Why People Hate Austin. Whereas the post attempted to counter reasons to hate Austin with reasons to love it, the post itself lends credence to the premise that people do hate Austin.
I think that the blog author, Michael Barnes, and the people who posted comments totally missed the mark.
No matter where you live, you will perceive that place as a reflection of your own attitude! Austin, like virtually any other mid-sized city, has a lot to love about it -- or a lot to hate, if that is your propensity.
Those who have a positve attitude and generally love life, will adore Austin. Those who have a negative attitude, a negative outlook on life, and a poor sense of their own possibilities will surely find a lot to hate about Austin (or anywhere they live).
That having been said, it seems quite apparent that Mr. Barnes really falls in the "Love Austin" camp when you read his post entitled An Early Christmas Gift to Austin.
