Lumber and construction materials wholesalers in Texas and other Southern states reported the steepest revenue drop of all industries during the past 12 months, according to a national survey.
The construction materials industry saw a 9 percent sales dip during the period, followed by building materials and supplies dealers with a 3.3 percent decline. Overall revenue from residential building construction declined by 2 percent.
