CAMPO seek public input for future of transportation

From Impact News, February 4, 2009...

The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) will launch "People, Planning and Preparing for the Future: Your 25 Year Transportation Plan" at a news conference on Monday, Feb. 9 at Plaza Saltillo, on 412 Comal Street in Austin, at 10:30 am. CAMPO Board Chair Sen. Kirk Watson will preside over the conference.

The event will kick off CAMPO's planning process for the 2035 plan, an effort that will ultimately establish a regional framework for local transportation planning decisions. CAMPO's "People, Planning and Preparing for the Future" team will seek widespread public input to create a plan that makes sense for the entire capital area community. Residents in Williamson, Travis and Hays, as well as Bastrop and Caldwell Counties will be asked to participate in a number of ways, including an online survey, a newspaper insert, and a series of public workshops, the first of which will be held in Austin on Feb. 19.
