Austin is facing a projected $20 million shortfall in the budget the city is operating under right now, and on Wednesday the city manager's office revealed its plan to make up the difference.
The public will have a chance to weigh in on the city manager's plan February 19. The plan doesn't call for layoffs, but it does freeze wages and hundreds of job vacancies along with cutting back services in several areas.
