RM and FM distinction might require A&M Ph.D

Out on 620 and 2222, some signs say RM (ranch-to-market) and others call the roads FM (farm-to-market). Is it RM 2222 or FM 2222? And at 620 and Texas 71, there's a green sign overhead calling it U.S. 71, which is a road in Louisiana and Texarkana. What's up with all of that?

Well, human error mostly. The "U.S. 71" sign in Bee Cave is a mistake, as are all of the signs that say FM 2222 and FM 620. There are also some I saw, mostly on minor side roads, that call it RR 620, as in "ranch road." The proper designations are RM 620 and RM 2222.
