Caterpillar Inc. is moving one of its main assembly and paint facilities to Texas, creating more than 1,400 jobs in Seguin.
Gov. Rick Perry, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and Speaker Tom Craddick made the announcement Thursday. The construction equipment maker will get a state investment of $10 million from the Texas Enterprise Fund.
Caterpillar, based in Peoria, Ill., plans to consolidate and move a manufacturing and testing facility to Seguin from Illinois and South Carolina.
