Recycling program aims to cut down on construction waste in Williamson Co. landfill

From Austin Bussiness Journal, June 13, 2008...

Waste Management plans to recycle asphalt shingles and construction and demolition materials at the Williamson County landfill.

The construction and demolition system would separate metal, wood, concrete, brick and sheetrock, enabling an estimated 25 to 30 percent of the waste to be recycled or re-used. The landfill takes in about 500 tons per day of construction and demolition debris.
