County Teams Up With Georgetown To Expand Road

Georgetown and Williamson County officials agreed Tuesday to work together on an expansion this fall of a busy two-lane road in Georgetown.

The City Council and Commissioners Court each voted Tuesday in favor of financing the project.

The plan for a 31/2-mile portion of RM 2338 (Williams Drive) has been in limbo in recent months after the state's transportation agency notified county and Georgetown officials that it no longer had the approximately $22 million needed to pay for the expansion to five lanes.
