Members of Taylor High School's band filed out of two buses in front of the school Wednesday night, laden with plaques and trophies and smiling at the cheers of parents and city officials.
The 78 students not only performed for spectators at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on Tuesday, they won so many first-place awards in pregame competition that they were named the best in overall performance, beating the other school bands from across the nation that competed in their class.
